In a tragic turn of events on the morning of April 3, 2025, 61-year-old Carrie Jenkins, a Black/African American female, was found deceased in her Mobile, Alabama, home. The Mobile Police Department responded to a call of a shooting at approximately 11:48 a.m. in the 1700 block of Long Meadow Road. Upon their arrival, they discovered Mrs. Jenkins with a fatal gunshot wound.
Also present at the scene was her husband, who was suffering from a life-threatening, self-inflicted gunshot wound.
