Charles Decloute, a 62-year-old Black man, was shot inside a home in the 2000 block of Sixth Street in Orange, Texas, on the night of Monday, May 26, 2025. Police were called just before 9:45–9:50 p.m. and found him with a gunshot wound to the head. First responders took him to CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, where he was pronounced dead in the early hours that followed. An autopsy was ordered as detectives opened a homicide investigation.
