The incident occurred at the James Zay Roberts Plaza apartments on Burton Avenue, where police responded to reports of a wounded man just after 11 p.m. Flanagan was found suffering from the gunshot wound and was quickly transported by Acadian Ambulance to Christus St.
Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The Orange Police Department believes that the shooting resulted from an argument that took place earlier that evening. A person of interest has been identified in connection with the case, but their name has not been released to the public.
