A prearranged car trade in Alvin, Texas, took a fatal turn on the night of April 2, 2026, ending the life of 18-year-old Emad Siddiqui of Sugar Land. The teenager had met with 23-year-old Eric Olvera of Alvin to swap vehicles when a dispute broke out between them at a convenience store. The disagreement escalated, and Siddiqui was shot.
