On July 28, 2004, Randall Clayton, a 19-year-old resident of Colton, California, was shot and killed at the Nova Pointe Apartments located at 800 E. Washington Street. At approximately 9:05 p.m., officers from the Colton Police Department responded to reports of a shooting and found Clayton suffering from a gunshot wound in the parking area of the apartment complex. He was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC), where he was later pronounced dead.
