Inocencio Sales, a 35-year-old resident of Homestead, Florida, was fatally shot in the early hours of August 7, 2023. The incident occurred in the area of 56 NW Ninth St in Homestead. Homestead police responded to the scene and found Sales suffering from gunshot wounds.
Sales was immediately airlifted by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to Jackson South Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries and died.
The investigation into the shooting was taken over by the Miami-Dade Police Department’s Homicide Bureau.
According to the police, the shooter approached Sales, demanded his property, and then shot him. However, it remains unclear whether any property was actually taken during the incident. As of the initial investigation, police did not have a description of the shooter.
The community has been impacted significantly by the incident, with local residents expressing concerns about their safety. Pedro Mateo, a resident of the area, reported hearing two gunshots and stated that he no longer feels safe.
To aid in the investigation, Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for any information leading to the arrest of the suspect or suspects involved in the fatal shooting.
