In the early evening hours of Valentine's Day, a residence in the 2300 block of Montpelier Avenue in Macon, Georgia, became the scene of a fatal shooting. On February 14, 2024, at approximately 6:10 p.m., deputies from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the home following a 911 call reporting that a person had been shot. Upon their arrival, they discovered 49-year-old Ernestine Frye suffering from a single gunshot wound.
