In the early afternoon of a spring day in Baltimore, the sound of gunfire pierced the air, setting in motion a tragic sequence of events. On April 2, 2024, at approximately 1:07 p.m., a ShotSpotter alert drew Baltimore Police Department officers to the 2300 block of Lafayette Avenue.
