On the morning of May 6, 2023, the sound of gunfire echoed through the 2100 block of Hollins Street in Southwest Baltimore. Patrolling officers in the vicinity of Hollins and Smallwood Streets heard the shots at approximately 9:52 a.m. and responded to the scene. There, they discovered 40-year-old Nathaniel Mack, a Black male, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Medical personnel were called to the location, but Mack's injuries were too severe, and he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
