On the evening of November 9, 2024, 18-year-old Salinas resident Adrian Puga attended a car sideshow event near the intersection of Prunedale Road South and Blackie Road in Prunedale, California. These sideshows, known for their dangerous car stunts and large gatherings, have been a growing concern in various California communities. At approximately 10:25 p.m., the Monterey County Sheriff's Office and the California Highway Patrol received multiple reports of a shooting at the event.
