On January 22, 2024, at approximately 4:07 a.m., San Diego Police responded to reports of a shooting in the 100 block of East Calle Primera in San Ysidro. Upon arrival, officers discovered two men with gunshot wounds near a motel and a third victim near a gas station close to the I-5 freeway. All three individuals were transported to local hospitals. Tragically, one of the victims, identified as 37-year-old Jorge Sahagun Osuna, succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds to his upper torso.
The other two victims, aged 31 and 20, sustained injuries but were expected to survive.
Investigations revealed that the suspect and victims were acquainted, possibly residing in the same area. Detectives believe an argument or confrontation preceded the shooting, though specific details remain unclear. The vehicle involved was subsequently recovered.
On January 25, 2024, at around 1:00 a.m., authorities arrested 30-year-old Jose Antonio Granados Jr. during a traffic stop in the 3700 block of Camino Del Rio West. Granados was booked into San Diego County Jail on one count of murder.
