On January 22, 2024, at approximately 4:07 a.m., San Diego Police responded to reports of a shooting in the 100 block of East Calle Primera in San Ysidro. Upon arrival, officers discovered two men with gunshot wounds near a motel and a third victim near a gas station close to the I-5 freeway. All three individuals were transported to local hospitals.
