Ray Von Burger, a 28-year-old male from Hull, Texas, tragically died on September 13, 2015, in Dayton, TX, from gunshot wounds. The incident occurred at a home on the 1100 block of Elaine Street. Witnesses reported seeing two black males and one white female enter the home while another white female and black male waited outside in a vehicle.
The investigation led to multiple arrests and charges.
Jennifer Lynn Paddy, 29, of Baytown, was the first to be indicted for Von Burger's murder by a Liberty County grand jury in December 2015. Paddy, who had a lengthy criminal history, also faced a burglary charge related to the incident. Cori Javaun Cadoree, 37, was charged with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit another felony, and his bond was set at $100,000. Kay Lynn Jordan Chambers, 29, was charged with burglary and held on a $100,000 bond. Antonio Jerrell Ary, 19, was in custody for a domestic assault charge and awaited presentation to a grand jury for his involvement in the case. Dre Addison Bush, 19, was still being sought for questioning.
The Liberty County grand jury also issued indictments against several other individuals for related crimes, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and assault. The Dayton Police Department continued to investigate the case and urged anyone with information to come forward.
