On January 28, 2023, Marcus Lumsdon, a 37-year-old man from Pompano Beach, Florida, was fatally shot following an argument. The incident occurred just after midnight near the 300 block of Southwest Second Place in Pompano Beach, outside an apartment complex.
According to witnesses, Lumsdon was involved in a verbal altercation with multiple individuals in front of the apartment complex. The argument escalated and turned physical, resulting in Lumsdon being shot multiple times.
Emergency responders, including Broward Sheriff’s deputies and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue, were called to the scene. Lumsdon was transported to Broward Health North with life-threatening injuries but was pronounced dead at approximately 12:34 a.m.
The Broward County Sheriff's Office is investigating the fatal shooting and is seeking the public's help in identifying the perpetrator. Detectives have appealed for anyone with information to contact Detective Kristina Luna or to submit tips anonymously through Broward Crime Stoppers. A $5,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
As of the current date, no arrests have been reported in connection with Lumsdon's murder, and the case remains unsolved. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities relying on public assistance to gather more information about the incident.
