On a warm summer evening, what began as a night out with friends ended in tragedy for 16-year-old Carlos Segura III of Sandy Spring, Maryland. The young man, who was about to enter his third year at Springbrook High School with aspirations of becoming a mechanic, was fatally shot on Saturday, August 10, 2024. Just hours before the incident, he had informed his mother he was going out with friends.
