On November 6, 2023, at approximately 10:30 a.m., 56-year-old Commander Darren Harris of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) was found deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head at his residence in Santa Clarita, California.

Commander Harris was a 25-year veteran of the LASD, having served in various capacities throughout his distinguished career. He began as a spokesman for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station, later advancing to the rank of lieutena ...
