Viron Prescott Ellison, a 35-year-old man from Lewisville, Texas, tragically lost his life on December 30, 2021. Ellison was at Chill Bar & Grill in Lewisville when a large fight broke out. He was trying to diffuse the situation when he was shot multiple times and later succumbed to his injuries at Medical City Lewisville. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's office ruled his death as a homicide.
Following the incident, Lewisville police launched an investigation.
Witnesses reported that the suspected shooter fled the scene in a silver vehicle, but the description provided was too vague to be released publicly. Despite the lack of a clear motive or connection between Ellison and the shooter, the police continued their search for answers.
On January 25, 2022, Lewisville police announced that they had made two arrests in connection with Ellison's death. James Williams Dipple, 20, and Clint Dennis Charles, Jr., 23, were taken into custody and charged with murder. Both suspects were found in a vehicle matching the description given by witnesses, and a handgun believed to be used in the shooting was recovered from the car.
Ellison's family and friends have been vocal about seeking justice for him. They described him as a loving father and an active member of his community. His mother, Aaliyyah Bowie, expressed the family's grief and their hope for justice, emphasizing that Ellison did not deserve to die in such a manner.
